Professional Development Specialist (1.0 FTE) LOCATION(S): CTI QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:Holds a current NYS Teaching CertificateSAS/SDA/SBL/SDL certification preferred5+ years of teaching experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Significant experience using computers and other technologies for instructional purposes in elementary, middle or secondary schools and/or significant experience assisting or teaching adults how to integrate technology in their instructional practice.Significant experience implementing STEAM and/or Project Based LearningMay require expertise in content areas and technologies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support countywide implementation of ESSA by providing professional development and coaching in classroom pedagogy, data-based instruction, best practices in assessment, mentoring and other topics as requiredTopics may include content standards, instructional practice, leadership, etcDesigning and presenting professional development workshops, providing coaching to teacher-leaders, aspiring principals, and principals, and facilitating face-to-face and online meetings.Promoting research and best practices in K-12 education.
