Library Media SpecialistAn anticipated vacancy exists for a Probationary Library Media Specialist for the 2023-2024 school year. Minimum Qualifications:New York State certification as Library Media Specialist.Applicants must be appropriately certified prior to start of employment. Responsibilities and Qualifications:Develops a culture of reading and promotes reading as a foundational skill for learning, personal growth, and enjoyment.Plans and provides instruction that addresses multiple literacies, including information literacy, media literacy, and technology literacy.Teaches and models developmentally appropriate best practices for learning and research.Provides a well-managed, safe, and welcoming environment.Collaborates with staff to enhance student learning and engagement.Supports curriculum through selection and management of resources that meet the needs and interests of students/staff.Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the School Library’s databases, inventory and circulations systems, and public-facing internet sites.Possesses a positive, constructive, growth-oriented mindset for continual professional growth.
