The Dover Union Free School District is seeking a dynamic, innovative instructional leader to serve as Assistant Principal of Dover High School, a rural school with a diverse community of learners in grades 9-12. An outstanding candidate will:Have knowledge of the New York State Standards and best practices in education regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessments.Be an effective communicator and collaborator who can systematically lead the faculty, staff, parents and students towards a shared vision for excellence, innovation, and rigor. Possess strong observation, evaluation and professional development skills to work with school staff on improving student and teacher learning through the use of data for educational decision-making.Be committed to the social and emotional development of all students with a fair and consistent approach to discipline.Have knowledge of and experience with RTI, special education and the CSE process, and the belief that all children can learn.View diversity as a strength and promote the inclusion of students from all backgrounds and levels of achievement to inspire and challenge students.All candidates must possess appropriate NYS School Building and/or School District Leadership certification.
