The Dobbs Ferry School District has an immediate vacancy for a temporary (leave replacement) School Library Media Specialist effective September, 2024 through June 30, 2025. NYSED elementary teaching certification is required (Childhood Education 1-6; Literacy Birth - 6); NYSED certification as a School Media Specialist is preferred, but not required. Candidates eligible for the internship certification are encouraged to apply.Description:The successful candidate ensures that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information; empowers students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers and ethical users of information; instills a love of learning in all students and ensure equitable access to information; collaborates with classroom teachers and specialists to design and implement lessons and units of instruction, and assess student learning and instructional effectiveness.Salary commensurate with experience and terms of employment are in accordance with the Dobbs Ferry United Teachers contract.
