The Delaware Academy Central School District at Delhi seeks a highly qualified candidates to fill the following: Position: Middle School English Teacher (Full time probationary position) Start Date: September 1, 2024 Salary: As per DAFA contract, based on experience Qualifications:NYS Teaching Certification in English 7-12Models a vision for preparing future-ready studentsStrong collaboration, organizational, written and communication skillsStrong student engagement and classroom management skillsKnowledge of current research, best practices, assessment, and instructional models in the field Desired Characteristics, Responsibilities, and Duties:Implement middle school ELA curriculum, aligned with current NYS Learning StandardsDevelop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s academic learning objectives and curriculumEngage in instructional practices that foster critical inquiry, analysis and evaluationUtilize diagnostic feedback from assessment tools to modify unit and lesson plansFoster a classroom environment conducive to learning including assessment of student progress, achievement, and behavior using appropriate instruments and methodsCreate opportunities for students to assume responsibility for and be actively engaged in their learningUse technology as a tool to strengthen the teaching/learning processWork collaboratively with inter- and cross-departmental peers to implement contentMaintain communication and engagement with parents/guardians in a timely fashionImplement differentiated models of instruction to meet the needs of a variety of learners, including students in need of modifications and accommodationsCommitment to professional development, teamwork, and innovation in the fieldPerforms other duties as assigned by the building principal or superintendent Reports to: Middle School Principal Deadline: Rolling until filled How to apply: Applications can be downloaded by visiting www.delhischools.org (Employment Opportunities) and should include: completed application, cover letter, resume, three letters of recommendation.
