The Delaware Academy Central School District at Delhi seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the following:Position: Committee on Special Education Chairperson (Teacher on Special Assignment) - 10 monthSalary: As per DAFA ContractQualifications: NYS certification as Special Education Teacher, or School Psychologist, or Related Service ProviderMinimum of five years of experience the field of special education and/or special programsStrong leadership, collaboration, organizational, written and communication skillsKnowledge of federal and NYS laws, regulations, and mandates as they apply to special education services including Part 200 and 201 regulationsCSE experience including the development and implementation of IEP’s Responsibilities and Duties:Serve as chairperson for subcommittee meetings of the Committee on Special Education where allowable by lawProvide assistance to the Director of Special Education to assure quality implementation and delivery of special education services and accommodations as recommended by the CSE, CPSE, or Section 504 CommitteesProvide assistance to the Director of Special Education in Response to Intervention (RTI) and Academic Intervention Services (AIS), K-12Coordinate continuum of services and least restrictive environment based on our student population, including on-going evaluation of existing programs in collaboration with Director of Special EducationMay lead professional development (PD) for staff including required annual special education updates and overall PD aligned with district vision, mission, and goalsAssist preparation and submittal of annual NYS Performance Indicator reportsPerforms other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and/or SuperintendentSupervises: N/AReports to: Director of Special Education
