TITLE:Building Maintenance Mechanic II (HVAC)LOCATION:BOCES wideREPORTS:Director of FacilitiesTERMS:12 months, Full time QUALIFICATIONS:Must meet civil service requirements: A. (1) Five years of experience in building maintenance or in one or more of the mechanical or construction trades; OR B. (1) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or technical institute with an Associate’s Degree in construction technology, or related field, and (2) three years of experience as described in (A) above; OR C. An equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated in (A) and (B) above.RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Maintenance Mechanic II, with a strong background in HVAC systems. The successful candidate will:Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems including boilers, heat pumps, rooftop units, and cooling towers, perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC controls and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency, monitor building environmental systems to maintain appropriate temperature, air quality, and humidity levels, assist with general building maintenance duties including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and masonry work as needed, respond to urgent maintenance requests, contribute to the safe, clean, and comfortable operation of the facility, ensuring a healthy instructional environment for staff and students and perform other duties that may be assigned.SALARY/BENEFITS:$18.50/hour plus credit for prior experience.Generous leave and benefits based on BOCES Educational Support Personnel Association (BESPA) collective bargaining agreement.
