TITLE:Behavior SpecialistLOCATION:BOCES Wide REPORTS:Director of Special Education TERMS:12 months; Full-time QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s Degree and NYS Certification in one of the following areas: any Special Education area, School Psychologist, Social Worker or a Related Field.At least 3 years of experience in analysis of behaviors and development and/or implementation of behavioral supports RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Selected candidate will provide assistance and support to special education classrooms to increase student engagement and decrease drop-out and suspension rates for students with disabilities through the following activities:Provide crisis intervention to students in need of supportWork as a member of the Student Support Team to assist teachers in developing interventionsCollaborate with staff, families, component districts and outside agencies SALARY/BENEFITS:Starting salary $63,000 – 90,500 per year; generous benefits and leave package based on BOCES Administrator’s Association (BAA).
