Director of Technology (1.0) Effective: ASAP The Cato-Meridian Central School District is seeking a Director of Technology to provide leadership and assume management responsibility for the direction, coordination, integration and implementation of technology across all school district buildings and departments. The Director of Technology will be responsible for planning, purchasing, inventorying, installing, and maintaining the physical technology systems of the District in a condition of excellence enabling full educational use of technology at all times in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and requirements. This is a hands-on position with responsibilities that range from strategic and long range planning and implementation of system-wide technology solutions, to providing one-on-one, and group training and support. The individual in this position: Introduces and implements new hardware and software, systems and applications; oversees instructional and technical support functions; Supervises work of subordinate technical personnel in both hardware and software areas, including assigning and scheduling work, evaluating performance, etc.; Responsible for the operation and update of the district’s network system; Develops and implements computer usage, internet, and email policies; Manages the creation and deletion of student and staff accounts along with rostering for various student databases; Plans technology budget and oversees the use of all technology resources; Serves as liaison between the Cato-Meridian Central School District, Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES and the BOCES Regional Information Centers; Develops and maintains relationships with vendors of instructional and administrative hardware and software products to obtain technical specifications, evaluate products and, once hardware or software is installed, as needed for training and technical support; Directs, designs and assists in the preparation of programs that meet staff technology needs consistent with identified building, department and district goals; Reports to the Assistant Superintendent the results of all district-wide technology initiatives; • Establishes and maintains lines of communication with sources of funding that can be used for technology; Designs assessment instruments and techniques to review and evaluate the results of district wide technology programs; Develops and maintains a customer service program for all technology related efforts; Maintains awareness and knowledge of technological changes in both hardware and software fields. Plans and administers information and technology programs for the Cato-Meridian Central School District; Acts as the Data Privacy Officer and Ensures district compliance with Ed Law 2D and student data privacy requirements;Demonstrate exceptional level of professionalism, tact, and courtesy; Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Possession of or near completion for a School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) licensure. At least two (2) years of experience in implementation, coordination, and/or management in providing instructional support to teachers regarding technology applications, along with a firm understanding of the role of technology and its support in an educational setting. Strong knowledge of technology infrastructure and a willingness to work to support district goals.
