The Central Islip School District is currently seeking a Director of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services for the 2023-2024 school year. Duties include but not limited to:-Collaboration with District staff, families, special education teachers, and the community for planning and implementing educational services and/or programs-Setting up staffing levels for school special education programs-Facilitates meetings for the purpose of maintaining and implementing Special Education programs and services-Utilization of fiscal efficiency as it relates to Special Education programming-Supervision and evaluation of District-level Special Education staff-Coordinates with outside agencies when necessary to offer appropriate services-Directs billing of Medicaid-eligible special education services provided by the district-Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding developing special education issues, laws and educational methods-Serves as a district representative for IEP meetings as needed-Performs other duties as assigned
