ResponsibilitiesAcademic, Career, and Personal/Social Counseling: Provide comprehensive counseling services to students at each grade level, focusing on academic achievement, career planning, and personal/social development.Scheduling: Support school administration through the master scheduling process. Student Progress Evaluation: Assess student progress and guide them in selecting programs and courses that align with their abilities, interests, and goals, ensuring they meet NYS diploma requirements and pathways.Parent/Guardian Communication: Inform parents / guardians of student progress and involve them in counseling-related services when appropriate.College and Career Readiness: Promote college and career readiness, laying the foundation for lifelong learning.Consultation Services: Offer consultation to support personnel, parents, and administration to help understand and meet individual student needs.Student Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for students, ensuring their needs and voices are heard and addressed.Community Agency Collaboration: Maintain effective relationships with community agencies involved with students.School Community Communication: Communicate effectively with the entire school community to support student success.QualificationsAppropriate NYS Certification Commitment to inclusive practices and serving as leaders in advocating for equity for all student populations.
