School NurseAssists the School Physician in physical, visual and auditory screening examinations of studentsand employees; Administers first aid and emergency treatment to students and employees;Investigates reported accidents and injuries; Supervises, prepares and maintains health andattendance records for school authorities; Assists at school immunization clinics;Arranges to transport sick or injured students or employees to hospital, home, doctor’s ordentist’s office in case of emergency; Supervises and processes applications for free and reducedlunch program; Inspects the school plant, playground and cafeteria and reports on general safetyand sanitary conditions; Orders, inventories and oversees the storage of first aid and relatedhealth supplies and equipment; Consults with teachers, staff members, physician and parentsconcerning a variety of health factors related to nonattendance and communicable disease;Participates in committee meetings related to the work; Acts as liaison on health related mattersbetween the school and community; Prepares a variety of records and reports as required.
