The Cold Spring Harbor School District seeks a dynamic, student-centered educator to join our World Languages Department as a Spanish Teacher (grades 7–12), with additional certification in Italian preferred. We are seeking a collaborative professional who is eager to contribute to both the department and the broader school community, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment. Qualifications : Valid New York State Certification in Spanish (7–12) Strong knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards for World Languages Demonstrated ability to use data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes Commitment to collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Valid New York State Certification in Italian (7-12) preferred Key Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons that promote language proficiency and cultural understanding Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners and support student growth Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform instructional decisions Integrate instructional technology effectively to enhance student learning and engagement Collaborate actively with colleagues to support curriculum development and departmental initiatives Communicate regularly with students, families, and the Instructional Support Team regarding progress and goals Create a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and affirming for all students Support students with a range of learning needs, including ENL, IEP, and 504 plans Participate in school and district initiatives, contributing positively to the school community Cover letter may be addressed to Brian Taylor, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources No telephone calls, please
