Qualifications Successful candidates must possess:Valid NYS Teaching Certification required (Additional: SBL or SAS preferred) Seven years of instrumental music teaching experienceExtensive knowledge of New York State Learning Standards, effective instructional practices, and student assessment Experience supporting students with NYSSMAStrong interpersonal and communication skills ResponsibilitiesLead district-wide music programProvide classroom instruction - BandProvide effective instructional leadership, guiding and supporting department staff to meet individual and collective goalsCreate and maintain an environment that fosters mutual respect among all stakeholdersOrganize and guide all building-level concertsCommunicate effectively with all stakeholders, verbally and in writing, including creating successful partnerships with students’ familiesSupport professional development initiatives to ensure best practices are implemented in all classrooms.Observe and evaluate faculty and staff.
