SCHOOL COUNSELOR REQUIRED – CREDENTIALS: N.Y.S. School Counselor certificationRequirements of the position include:• Responsible for students in grades K-6• Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to assist all stakeholders of the CSCS community;• Desire to work with students in individual and small group counseling settings;• Participate in grade level teams, Student Support Team, Crisis Response Team meetings;• Collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, support services and administration, teachers;• Facilitate student development in academic, personal/social and career planning;• Able to work independently and as a team member.• Able to work independently and as a team member.REQUIRED CREDENTIALS: N.Y.S. School Counselor certification. Successful prior teaching experience, special education experience desirable, knowledge of New York State Learning Standards, working knowledge of NYS special education law, and a collaborative team member.
