POSITION: Dean of Students SALARY: $51,950 - $64,200 Commensurate with experience REQUIREMENTS: NYS Teaching Certification Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, the Dean of Students will assist the Principal with the following as required:Establishes and promotes high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior.Utilizes student data information systems including: Infinite Campus referrals, Syscloud filtering reports, etc. Documents incidents and resolutions in a timely manner.Manages student behavior and assigns consequences primarily focusing on level one according to the Code of Conduct. (If behavior is recurring or exceeds level one, consult with administration). Communicates with families in a timely manner regarding any student concerns.Manages the operation of the school to ensure a safe and orderly climate (e.g. assists arrival and dismissal, fire drills, lock downs, etc.). Ensures compliance with all laws, board policies, and civil regulations.Collaborates with administration to support student needs.Keeps the Principal and Assistant Principal, other appropriate administrators informed of school activities and problems such as transportation, discipline, parental concerns, etc.Serves as a role model for students and staff, demonstrating the importance and relevance of learning, accepting responsibility, and demonstrating pride in the education profession.Maintains visibility with students, staff, caregivers and the BOE.Provides supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom in accordance with building and district expectations. Reports to school on time.Maintains confidentiality.Adheres to and enforces the CCSD Code of Conduct.Participates, when appropriate, in continuous professional growth and development related to student management and mediation.Attends required meetings and follows building rules, procedures and district policies.Maintains positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with students, staff, caregivers, colleagues, district personnel and community.Uses excellent written and oral English skills when communicating with students, staff, caregivers and community.OTHER: Performs related duties as required or assigned.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
