We are seeking a leader who will not only manage a Fifth through Eighth Grade school of approximately 500 students, but will also actively reimagine the school experience by dismantling institutional barriers to promote innovation and well-being.ROLE OVERVIEW & KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Principal at PVC serves as the primary advocate for a student-centered, interdisciplinary learning environment. Key responsibilities include:Reimagining the Master Schedule: Lead the effort to redesign the school day to support interdisciplinary class offerings and increased student interaction across grade levels.Demonstrating Instructional and Curricular Leadership: Collaborate with instructional coaches to enhance authentic and rigorous learning experiences and innovative pedagogical strategies. Lead work on reimagining curriculum mapping based on modern best practices. Advancing Assessment Systems: Guide the faculty in developing a shared philosophy on assessment, grading, and feedback that moves away from traditional structures to prioritize student reflection and intellectual risk-taking.Uplifting Faculty Collaboration: Cultivate an innovative professional culture where teachers act as creative partners, utilizing systems like peer observation and lesson study to enhance instruction.Designing Dynamic Learning Spaces: Prioritize teacher and student voices in the ongoing budget and design process for flexible, dynamic learning spaces that spark curiosity.Cultivating Intentional Technology Integration: Support the use of technology in learning that strengthens our instructional program through creativity, collaboration, and creation.
