We emphasize collaboration among staff, student voice, and a strong partnership with families.Position Overview:The Croton-Harmon UFSD is seeking a dedicated, student-centered educational leader to serve as the Assistant Principal (Leave Replacement) at Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School. The successful candidate will support the Principal in fostering a positive school climate, supervising instructional staff, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment as the school works towards the District Vision Map.Key Responsibilities:Support the implementation of the school’s mission, vision, and goals.Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff to ensure high-quality instruction.Assist with curriculum development, professional learning, and school and district goalsFoster positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the greater school community.Lead student discipline efforts in a restorative manner.Coordinate daily operations, including scheduling, attendance, supervision, and safety procedures.Support data-informed decision-making to enhance student outcomes.Required:Valid New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or equivalent administrative certification.Master’s Degree in Education or related field.Minimum of 3–5 years of successful teaching or leadership experience, preferably at the middle school level.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.Preferred Characteristics:Deep understanding of adolescent development and middle-level education.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.Experience with restorative practices and social-emotional learning frameworks.Collaborative leadership style and the ability to inspire and support others.Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities and respond effectively in dynamic situations.Interested candidates must submit application on OLAS and the District’s Human Resources Site.
