The Corinth Central School District is seeking a school counselor to join our Middle School team. Counselors are an essential component of our school and play a vital role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development. They work closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to help create a positive learning environment. Responsibilities associated with this position include providing individual counseling to address personal challenges, offering academic guidance to help students meet their goals, and developing career exploration opportunities. Counselors also help coordinate programs to address students' emotional state , mental health awareness, and conflict resolution, ensuring students are equipped with the tools to thrive both in and out of the classroom. Our counselors work with a number of different community agencies and connect students and families to external support services when needed. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of child development, and a commitment to promoting a safe and welcoming school environment. The ideal candidate is well organized and is able to work on a team, collaborating with colleagues on developing meaningful solutions. Counselors must be licensed in school counseling, with certification from the New York State Education Department.
