LOCATION: Career & Technical Education – 925B Watervliet-Shaker RoadBASIC FUNCTION: Serves as the instructional leader of the Health Careers & Services programs. Supervises of all aspects of Health Careers and Services program offerings at the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School. Lead the staff of the Health Careers & Services programs to ensure compliance with various instructional standards as put forth by NYSED, NYSDOH and NYSOOP. Reports to the Director of Health Careers & Services. QUALIFICATIONS: A. Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university, or one accredited by New York State to grant degrees, with a master’s degree in educational leadership, or a related field.B. Current NYS certification in School Building Leader (SBL), School District Administrator (SDA) or School Administrator & Supervisor (SAS).C. At least three (3) years of experience as teacher and/or educational administrator. D. Instructional leadership in the planning and delivering of new and innovative programming E. Education and/or experience in the supervision of instructional staff and programs. F. Must be team oriented, comfortable with change, able to develop collaboration among diverse populations.RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Lead and manage multiple Health Careers and Services programs and services. 2. Work with the Director- Health Careers & Services in planning and decision-making regarding the future direction of the Health Careers & Services Programs.3. Supervise secondary Health Careers and Services coordinators and programs. 4. Supervise and evaluate all post-secondary Health Careers and Services coordinators, teachers, and programs. 5. Participates in all aspects of Student Management by working with other administrators, teachers, support personnel on all discipline referrals.a. Track and monitor in-school and out of school suspension data (with e-school personnel and attendance person).b. Make recommendation for PD and/or program improvements based on that data .6. Lead and support curriculum development, pedagogy, and application of quality instructional practices.7. Provide for two-way communication with the Director of Heath Careers & Services, staff, adult students, parents of secondary students and families of the school community.8. Maintains student data and attendance tracking for all Health Careers & Services programs.9. Oversees and maintains student management database systems.10. Collaborate with multiple districts, stakeholders, and families.11. Foster collegiality and team building among staff members.12. Oversight of building and safety of buildings, including the scheduling of security personnel.13. Organize and conduct regular meetings of instructional staff of health careers programs & services.14. Coordinates professional development for faculty and staff.15. Provides data and information to support development of program budget.16. Comply with various laws, regulations, policies, and procedures set forth by NYSED, NYSDOH and NYSOOP for Health Careers & Services programs.17. Serve as an active member of the CTE leadership team, assigned committees and professional organizations. 18. Perform other tasks as required.
