LOCATION: Career & Technical Education – Adult Education Program located at Schoharie CampusSTART DATE: As soon as possible (3 hours/day @ 2 nights/week)BASIC FUNCTION:To instruct adults (18 years and older) in various subjects aligned with College & Career Readiness curriculum and the NYS High School Equivalency diploma preparation and examination. Support overall program effectiveness following National and NYS Recording Systems, as defined by NYSED.QUALIFICATIONS:A. NYS teacher certification or should meet New York State Adult Education Certification requirements or able to meet requirements. Requirements for the Adult Education certificate are listed on the home page of the NYS Education Department Teaching Certification under ‘Certification Requirements’ in the category of “Other School Service-Adult Education-Literacy And GED Preparation Instructor” http://eservices.nysed.gov/teach/certhelp/CertRequirementHelp.doB. Working knowledge and understanding of the ASISTS Data Management System is preferred.C. Experience working with youths and adults in an alternative setting desirable.RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To instruct adults (18 years and older) in high school equivalency preparation within a classroom setting. 2. Implement consistent data collection procedures, check data accuracy, establish follow-up strategies, and follow assessment procedures.3. Support overall program effectiveness following National and NYS Recording Systems as defined by NYSED.4. Support student creation of short and long term goals as required by NYSED.5. Record student achievements over multiple years.
