LOCATION: Special Education – Multiple LocationsBASIC FUNCTION:Provide social work counseling services in the individual, group and consultant setting, and as directed by student Individual Education Programs. Student populations served include elementary, middle and high school ages identified with deafness and hard of hearing or multiple disabilities. The potential to serve other disabilities is also possible in this position. Sign language skills are preferred, but training will be offered to strong candidates, if necessary. QUALIFICATIONS:Valid NYS School Social Worker certificateLCSW preferredStrong clinical experience with youth and families.American sign language a plus. The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001. RESPONSIBILITIES:Assessment, case management, counseling and referral for youth and families.Consultation and collaboration with teachers and administrators.SALARY: BOCES employee salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with contract language.
