LOCATION: Special Education – Maywood Academy & Airline Drive AcademyBASIC FUNCTION: To provide music instruction to children with special needs with indirect support from or in conjunction with the Special Education teacher. QUALIFICATIONS:NYS teaching certificate in Music K-12.Teaching experience with students who have a variety of disabilities.The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001. RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide music instruction and assessment to students with disabilities in Grades K-12 and adhere to any specific IEP needs.This teaching position requires knowledge of behavior management and instructional skills concomitant to the most recent Learning Standards.
