The Carle Place School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate holds special education certification across grades K-6 and has experience providing Resource Room and/or Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) services. Elementary Special Education experience required. Key Responsibilities/Skills: Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student goals Apply data-driven interventions to inform classroom instruction Conduct ongoing data collection and progress monitoring Collaborate with general education teachers, special education administrators, related service providers, support staff, and families Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior supports and evidence-based practices Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs Participate in IEP meetings, staff trainings, committee meetings, and professional development opportunities Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations Provide specialized instruction in Resource Room and/or Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) settings, as appropriate Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth, independence, and success
