START DATE: July 1, 2026 SALARY: per CPAA contract The Carle Place Union Free School District is looking for a dynamic, dedicated, and innovative administrator to serve as the District Director of Instructional Technology. The District Director of Instructional Technology is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction with all district instructional technology across all curricular departments from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The successful candidate will demonstrate collaborative leadership, strong communication and empathetic interpersonal skills, an extensive knowledge of best practices in K-12 instructional technology, education law, and technical infrastructure, and a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence for all learners. Qualifications: Valid NYS School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) or School District Leader (SDL) certification Prior experience leading instructional technology is preferred Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be able to perform the following functions with a high degree of competency: Lead the development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive instructional technology plan that initiates and sustains technology innovations, aligns to curricula and Carle Place Portrait of A Graduate competencies, and supports the digital education of all students and staff Assist district and school leaders to identify, evaluate, and select exemplary digital resources, including teacher/student/family messaging systems, that support learning goals, incorporate research-based instructional design principles, and are compatible with school technology infrastructure Ensure technology standards for all computer science/technology coursework are implemented, assessed, and supported by a scope and sequence and curriculum alignments Provide instructional technology support and professional development for teachers based on assessment data analysis, curriculum updates, and emerging trends in education ensuring adherence to district standards and educational best practices Supervise and evaluate all Library/Media programs, computer-based testing programs, computer and technology staff, and the district technology offices Conduct regular observations and evaluations of teachers to ensure alignment with district standards and instructional best practices Develop, implement, and manage the budget associated with instructional technology Assist in the hiring of high-quality faculty and staff Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee
