The Carle Place Union Free School District is looking for a dynamic, dedicated administrator to serve as the principal of a 3-6 elementary building. The successful candidate will demonstrate collaborative leadership, strong communication and empathetic interpersonal skills, an extensive knowledge of best practices in elementary instructional areas and age-appropriate academic and behavioral interventions, a thorough understanding of all elementary curriculum areas, including the Science of Reading and mathematics, and a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence for all learners. Qualifications : Valid NYS School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) or School Building Leader (SBL) certification Prior experience as successful school administrator is preferred Responsibilities : The successful candidate will be able to perform the following functions with a high degree of competency: Implement the District’s vision, mission, and goals as they align to student achievement and success Provide visible, inspirational, and effective leadership that supports students and staff Maintain and advance building, district, and community relationships Oversee daily school operations Develop, implement, and manage the building budget Assist in the hiring of high-quality faculty and staff Conduct classroom observations and provide teacher feedback Evaluate faculty and staff assigned to their supervision Support and deliver professional development for teachers and staff Utilize data to drive instructional decisions Foster a positive, inclusive school culture Manage character education and student disciplinary activities
