Overview: Copenhagen Central School is looking for a creative and energetic teacher for a special new grant funded role that lasts for the next three years. We need someone who loves helping kids with both their emotions and their tech skills. This teacher will be the "missing link" in our school—someone who can teach exciting new projects to the whole class while also stepping in to give extra, one-on-one help to students who are struggling. Our goal is to make sure every single student has exactly what they need to be successful in the modern world. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Innovative Instruction & Standards Integration Braid & Deliver: Design and implement a K-5 block that integrates SEL (Social Emotional Learning), CSDF (Computer Science & Digital Fluency) standards, and our Portrait of a Graduate components. Instructional Design: Create project-based learning experiences that teach students to be collaborative, creative, and digitally responsible. 2. Targeted Student Interventions (Tier 2 & 3) Move to Learn: Lead small-group "Move to Learn" interventions for qualifying students, focusing on primitive reflex integration and brain-body readiness. Academic Support: Provide data-driven AIS (Academic Intervention Services) in literacy or math, utilizing evidence-based practices to close achievement gaps. Screening & Progress Monitoring: Use provided screening tools to identify students for movement-based, math and reading interventions and track their growth over time. Required Qualifications: Valid NYS Teaching Certification (Childhood or Special Education preferred). Experience with, or strong interest in, the Move to Learn framework and sensory-motor development. Proficiency in digital fluency standards and a passion for SEL. We are looking for an educator who is analytical about data but "Caregiver" at heart—someone who can manage a complex schedule while maintaining deep, supportive relationships with students.
