The Cornwall Central School District is seeking a dedicated, highly qualified, and student-centered School Psychologist to join our special education and student support teams. The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to supporting the academic, emotional, and behavioral growth of our diverse student population, working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational and behavioral evaluations for the Committee on Special Education (CSE), incorporating neuropsychological subtests as appropriate, to assess individual student needs and determine appropriate supports. Collaborate with educators, parents, and multi-disciplinary teams to design and implement effective Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs). Work collaboratively with counselors to implement tiered DBT and provide individual and group counseling as needed to support students' social-emotional and mental health needs. - Consult with instructional staff on Tier 1, 2, and 3 interventions to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Actively participate in CSE/504 meetings to review data, determine eligibility, and recommend supportive services. Position Requirements Valid New York State Certification as a School Psychologist is required. Preferred Qualifications We are highly interested in candidates who possess one or more of the following premium skill sets: Bilingual Capability: Fluency in both English and Spanish to facilitate bilingual evaluations and support our Spanish-speaking families. Behavioral & Sensory Expertise: Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) certification, and/or experience implementing behavioral strategies and sensory regulation techniques for students with complex behaviors, ADHD, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Advanced Assessment Skills: Demonstrated ability to experience conducting and interpreting neuropsychological testing. Age-Specific Experience: Strong, proven track record working with preschool-aged (CPSE) and elementary aged students.
