The Cornwall Central School District anticipates various vacancies across our five school buildings. Teaching Assistants must hold valid certification. Teaching Assistants are largely responsible for working with individual students or groups of students on targeted instruction directed by a classroom teacher. Such work often includes providing the teacher with information about the student(s) that may further support the student’s learning and social emotional progress. Additionally, Teaching Assistants may be tasked with the use of specific instructional resources, as well as assisting in the development of instructional materials. Teaching Assistants may also be required to assist in specific health related activities or behavioral plans as appropriate and determined by a student's IEP, 504 or BIP. This may include personal hygiene care. The independent supervision of students is also an essential job responsibility.
