Qualifications: New York State School District Leader Certification Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience and/or successful leadership experience in the areas of curriculum and instruction, including building and/or department level leadership. Extensive knowledge of New York State graduation requirements, New York State Learning Standards, UPK, and data informed decision-making. Fingerprint clearance required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Regular observation and evaluation of probationary and tenured certificated staff. Implementation and monitoring of diagnostic tools that provide formative and summative assessment data to inform instructional practices and successfully move instruction with a growth mindset. Lead Achievement/Data presentations and support principals with NYS 3-8 Assessments, Regents, and Universal Screenings. Communicate complex student achievement data to diverse audiences with clarity and transparency. Coordinate Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) and Academic/Behavioral supports. Manage the Curriculum Budget and oversee all aspects of ESSA Title Grants (development, compliance, reporting, and FS-10 budgeting). Ability and willingness to successfully collaborate with instructional staff and provide targeted, clear and strategic feedback. Oversees the District’s Professional Development Plan, including planning of Superintendent’s Conference Days and ongoing teacher training. Oversees the District’s AIS (Academic Intervention Services) Plan coordinating the plan’s biennially review with District stakeholders. Oversee PD approval workflows (Frontline) and process salary advancements related to professional growth. Works in close concert and collaboration with the Human Resources Department and Business Department to ensure staffing needs are met and maintained as well as recommended appointments are consistent with the District’s annual operating budget. Supervises and provides leadership, direction and support to building principals and department administrators. Attend regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings and provide detailed updates to the Board on students’ growth and achievement, most often in the form of an annual presentation to the Board of Education. Anticipates future educational trends and prepares the District for changes in state mandates and graduation requirements such as the Portrait of a Graduate. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. Recruitment Process: Candidates selected for a screening interview will meet with the District Office Cabinet, including the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Director of Human Resources. Promising candidates will move forward to a larger committee before finalists are selected for a performance task to be presented to the District Office leadership team. The recommended finalist will meet with the Board of Education prior to appointment with an anticipated start date on, or around, July 1, 2026.
