The Cornwall Central School District is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist (0.5 FTE) for a district-wide, 10 month per school year, position. This is a professional position (Monday – Friday, half days) involving responsibility for evaluating, planning and providing occupational therapy treatment to students upon recommendation of the Committee on Special Education and a physician's prescription. Work is performed in accordance with approved professional standards under general supervision of an Administrator responsible for Pupil Services and/or Special Education with considerable leeway allowed for the use of independent judgement. The Occupational Therapist works cooperatively with parents, students, staff and others involved in the delivery of services to children. Does related work as required. Applicants must possess and maintain a current New York State license to practice as an Occupational Therapist (must be a NYS registered Occupational Therapist - OT/R). In addition, applicants must have good knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of occupational therapy as applied to children. Applicants must also possess good knowledge of the operation and minor maintenance of apparatus and equipment used in occupational therapy; working knowledge of community resources available to support or supplement the occupational therapy program; ability to comprehend, teach, and execute occupational therapy programs to students, family members and faculty; ability to work well with other team members; ability to write and speak effectively; ability to document findings and maintain accurate case records; ability to plan and supervise the work of others; ability to get along well with others; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Civil Service requirements also apply.Salary will be determined based on the individual's prior training and level of experience in accordance with the Cornwall Central Teachers' Association contract.Please submit resume, letter of interest, transcripts and application on OLAS to:Ms. Nicole TriassiDirector of Pupil Personnel Services10 Dragon DriveNew Windsor, NY 12553
