Salary Range: $125K - $129K, plus longevity; based upon experience, includes a generous benefit package.This position shall have responsibility for assisting the District Athletic Director in the overall management of the Copiague Schools’ Interscholastic Athletic, PE and Health Programs.Reports to: District Athletic DirectorDirect Reports: All paid and volunteer coaches, physical education and health teachers, equipment managers, and trainers.Candidate Profile: Seeking a candidate with a minimum of 5 years of teaching physical education/ health education and coaching experience at the High School level. New York State SDA or SDL Certification. Must be a NYS Certified Physical Education teacher. • Assists the Athletic Director in supervising the High School and Middle School athletic programs in coordination with the Principal, Superintendent, and others, including recommending policies and procedures relating to the athletic programs.• Assists the Athletic Director in the development of an annual budget and its implementation.• Assists the Athletic Director with the development of the interscholastic athletic schedules and officials’ schedules for all contests.• Assists the Athletic Director in the coordination of transportation for all athletic contests.• Assists the Athletic Director in coordination of support personnel for all athletic contests, including game management, ticket sales, security, athletic trainer and emergency personnel and apparatus.• Assists the Athletic Director in the supervision of the athletic coaches. • Assists the Athletic Director in the supervision of all contests.• Meet with parents and booster clubs to promote athletic programs and help to enhance the student athlete experience.• Attend and actively engage with coaches, referees and athletes indoor and outdoor year-round in the performance and effective management of the athletic program.• Ensures that all aspects of physical education, athletic and health related programs are conducted in accordance with the related Rules and Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education, the State Athletic Association, Section XI, and the Copiague School District.• Schedules all formal classroom observations for physical education and health education teachers as needed. Coordinates all observation reports and year-end evaluations for physical education and health teachers.
