The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of School Monitor for the Junior/Senior High School. The ten (10) month, full-time position is from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, when school is in session with an hourly rate of $17.72, adhering to the Service Unit Contract.General Statement of Duties:This is work of ordinary difficulty involving responsibility for assisting teachers by performing routine and non-instructional duties including pupil supervision. Work is performed under the supervision of the Building Principal.Examples of Work: Assists teachers in supervisory recreation, lunch periods, and study hallsOversees students passing between classes and in locker rooms, parking lots, and on premises before, during, and after schoolMaintains order on playgrounds, in gymnasium, and in locker roomsMay perform simple clerical duties under close supervisionPerforms such additional duties as may be assigned to him/herRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to develop rapport with children; some knowledge of first aid methods; clerical aptitude; familiarity with classroom routine; courtesy; and good judgment.Direct questions regarding the position to Sarah Spross, Superintendent of Schools at (607) 547-5364.
