The Canajoharie CSD is currently accepting applications for a full time, 8 hour per day Building Maintenance Worker. This is a temporary position, with employment dates of September 1, 2026-December 31, 2026. Typical work activities include, but are not limited to: Performs semi-skilled work in masonry, carpentry, electrical, or painting operations; Helps to install and repair wiring systems and electrical fixtures and equipment; Repairs windows, doors, floors, walls, and other parts of the building; Cleans, repairs, and maintains a variety of grounds keeping equipment such as lawnmowers, tractors, and snow blowers; Does interior and exterior painting; Helps to install and repair general plumbing equipment such as sinks, toilets, faucets,etc.; Takes part in general grounds maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, raking leaves, and other grounds keeping tasks; Setting up, tearing down, and cleaning up after building and grounds events and activities; Substituting for cleaners and custodians when necessary; Other duties requested by the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds. Applicants must posses either an associates degree or 4 years of experience in either general building construction or maintenance work in one or more of the standard trades such as carpentry, plumbing, or electrical. Possession of a driver’s license is required at the time of appointment.
