The Canajoharie CSD is currently accepting applications for a full-time Bus Driver/Custodian. The position will be split 4 hours as a driver and 4 hours as a custodian. Applicants must be qualified on the Montgomery County Civil Service custodian list, as well as possess the appropriate drivers license endorsement to operate a school bus and be of at least 21 years of age. The following are some, but not all aspects of the position:Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment; and ability to use them e economically and efficiently;Ability to acquire knowledge of the operation and maintenance of school building heating and ventilation equipment;Ability to make minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical repairs;Performs a variety of routine maintenance tasksAbility to understand and carry out simple oral and written directions,Ability to get along well with others;Willingness to perform custodial and other manual tasks; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Operates a school bus or other school vehicle on a regular schedule, during the day as required, and on special trips;Keeps interior and exterior of bus clean and neat;Maintains orderly conduct of children on bus;Informs children about safety regulations and practices; Interested applicants should complete their application through OLAS and upload a current resume.
