The Canajoharie CSD is currently accepting applications for an Energy Management Coordinator. This position is a 14 month temporary position. Please see description and qualifications below. Applications selected for an in-person interview will be contacted by the District.DUTIES: Design and implement a district wide energy management plan, create, direct and coordinate a district energy management team, seek out and write energy related grants, and work directly with district faculty and staff to integrate energy management concepts into curriculum EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only, non exhaustive)Direct school district efforts to utilize energy more efficiently and economicallyMaintain and submit reports, plans and results to district Superintendent, Board of Education, and NYSERDA;Conduct weekly energy audits and walkthroughs in the district;Design and implement, along with Director of Facilities, capital project plans, maintenance and building projects, and an energy management plan;Collaborate with Director of Facilities and Director of Curriculum to integrate energy management concepts into district curriculum Report quarterly to the Board of Education on initiatives and programs designed in the energy management planCoordinate public information program on school district energy conservation programsResearch and write potential grant opportunities associated with alternative energy sources REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Good knowledge of traditional and alternative sources of energy and current energy conservation methods, as well as facilities related procedures and equipment; ability to work with and gain cooperation of school personnel, with good communication and public speaking skills; ability to prepare clear, accurate and comprehensive reports, including budgets and other data analysis; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four year college or university with a Bachelor's degree;or Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two year college with an Associates Degree and two years of full-time paid (or the equivalent part time and/or volunteer) experience performing energy audits, coordinating facilities energy programs, identifying and/or implementing energy reduction measures or maintenance of facilities; orGraduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four years of full time paid (or equivalent part time and/or volunteer) experience performing energy audits, coordinating facilities energy programs, identifying and/or implementing energy reduction measures or maintenance of facilities. Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets, databases and word processingPreferred experience in HVAC systems, operations and management of facilities or buildings and grounds
