The successful candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of elementary education, the science of reading, effective teaching strategies, the professional observation process, building management, curriculum alignment, and have a proven track record with leading and improving programs and systems. Additionally, it is essential that the successful candidate demonstrates excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.The responsibilities include: development and implementation of curriculum aligned with NYS standards, chief evaluator for all professional staff, facilitation of professional learning opportunities for staff, utilization of student assessment data to drive instructional initiatives, oversight of the school’s class schedules, establishment of all building operational procedures, oversight of social-emotional supports and behavior management of students, management of all elementary, facilitation of all New York State testing requirements for students, management of all building level communications with community and parents, routine presentation at Board of Education meetings throughout the school year, and ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
