The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of special education regulations, Committee on Special Education and 504 meeting protocols, culturally responsive instructional practices, thorough understanding of IDEA grants, and a proven track record with leading and improving programs, policies, and systems. The coordination of professional learning communities that establishes a culture that emphasizes the education of exceptional children while working collaboratively with all stakeholders is a requirement. Additionally, it is essential that the successful candidate possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is self motivated, and dedicated to sustainable changes that improve student outcomes. Experience with work-based learning coordination is recommended.The responsibilities include: the coordination and oversight of CSE, CPSE, & 504 meetings, oversight of IEP and 504 plan development and implementation, act as the chief CSE/CPSE district wide chairperson, supervise and explore grant opportunities, manage special education section of website, act as medicaid coordinator, development of special education plan, oversee the completion of all special education state reporting, supervise nurses and paraprofessional staff, supervise the special education department, act as lead evaluator for special education teachers and support staff, assist with the testing schedules in each building, act as the Title IX and Section 504 Coordinator, perform the duties of the Title VI and Title VII compliance officer, and other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Application ProcessInterested candidates should provide a letter of interest, resume, and credentials no later than December 23, 2024 to the attention of:Dr. Melissa Reggio Middle School PrincipalCenter Moriches UFSD 311 Frowein Road Center Moriches, NY 11934 All applicants must apply through OLAS.
