The Commack School District seeks qualified applicantsfor the probationary position of: Assistant PrincipalCommack Middle SchoolStart Date: July 1, 2024Requirements:Valid NYS SAS or SBL Certification.Candidates must demonstrate leadership ability and a willingness to devote time beyond the regular school day in performance of responsibilities.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Accept responsibility as delegated by the Principal for the administration and supervision of the Middle School in accordance with the policies developed by the school board.Assist the Principal in the administration of instructional and curricular programs for the building.Evaluate and supervise the work of Middle School teachers and support staff as directed by the Principal.Attend and support building, district, and community events.Work with building and department administrators to create professional growth activities for instructional and non-instructional staff.Assist in the development and successful implementation of the master schedule as assigned by the Principal.Assist the Principal in collecting, organizing, and analyzing assessment data with a focus on continuous improvement.As required by the Principal, share responsibilities for recruiting, screening, interviewing, recommending, orienting, and supervising the certified teaching staff and non-certified support staff.Assist the Principal in developing and/or maintaining effective building safety procedures.Other duties as assigned by the Principal.
