The Commack School District seeks qualified applicants for the probationary position of: CSE/CPSE Chair The District seeks a highly motivated individual with the ability to lead and be responsible for the overall supervision of the CPSE and CSE process. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Special Education. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Chair CPSE and CSE meetings Supervise the CSE and CPSE process and procedures ensuring compliance with all legal requirements as assigned by the Director of Special Education Responsible for staff supervision and evaluation for instructional and non-instructional personnel Prepare reports as required by law and directed from administration Monitor staffing levels and recommend prospective candidates to the Director of Special Education Conduct departmental meetings and provide professional development to staff as needed Work with and be available for parents, students, and staff Other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director of Special Education Requirements: Valid NYS administrative certification Proven track record of exemplary leadership Candidates must be a visible leader with a willingness to go above and beyond to support students, staff, and families Application Instructions: Applications will only be accepted through OLAS Must submit a job specific cover letter via OLAS addressed to Mr. Scott Oshrin, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources no later than September 27, 2026
