The Commack School District seeks qualified applicants for the probationary position of: Elementary Principal Mandracchia-Sawmill Intermediate School (Grades 3-5) Start Date: August 17, 2026 Requirements : Valid NYS SAS, SBL, or Administrator Certification. Prior experience as a successful instructional leader. Candidates must demonstrate leadership ability and a willingness to devote time beyond the regular school day in performance of responsibilities. Responsibilities include but not limited to : Accept responsibility as delegated by the cabinet for the administration and supervision of the school in accordance with the policies developed by the school board. Responsible for the administration of all instructional and curricular programs for the building. Evaluate and supervise the work of teachers and support staff. Provide leadership and direction to the assistant principal. Attend and support building, district, and community events. Work with building and department administrators to create professional growth activities for instructional and non-instructional staff. Create the master schedule. Collect, organize, and analyze assessment data with a focus on continuous improvement. Recruit, screen, interview, recommend, orient, and supervise the certified teaching staff and non-certified support staff. Develop and implement effective building safety procedures. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and the Assistant Superintendents. Application Instructions : Applications will only be accepted through OLAS.
