The Commack School District seeks qualified applicantsfor the 2023-2024 School Year for the position of:Elementary Chorus / Classroom Music TeacherRolling Hills/Indian Hollow Primary SchoolsProbationary, Tenured Track PositionNYS K-12 Music Certification RequiredQualifications: NYS K-12 Music CertificationStrong vocal background with competent piano skills.Ability to conduct a choir of more than 100 students.Understanding of Dalcroze, Gordon, Kodaly, and Orff teaching methods and the ability to implement these approaches (when applicable) into meaningful instructional lessons.Additional information: Searching for a music educator who is innovative and passionate about music education and teaching elementary school students. The successful candidate must be able to collaborate with both the administration and colleagues to facilitate current initiatives and bring new initiatives into the building(s).
