Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and InstructionLocation: Chestnut Grove Administration BuildingEffective Date: July 1, 2023Requirements: NYS Administrative Certification Administrative experience 5 Years Teaching ExperienceASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR CURRICULUM and INSTRUCTION Reports to: Superintendent of Schools Role: to assume responsibility for the K-12 program of instruction and curriculum in all district schools, for the best advantage of students, while retaining sensitivity to the community’s fiscal resources Performance Responsibilities: assures compliance with state and federal laws pertaining to education, Commissioner's Regulations, Board of Education policies, Superintendent’s regulations, and contractual provisions as set forth in collective bargaining agreements with school personnel groups supervises and evaluates 14 schools and principals K-12 supervises and evaluates the Curriculum Administrators and support staff associated with this department oversee the orientation and development of all new instructional personnel supervise the preparation of the K-12 Curriculum and Instruction budgetsSupervise the projects of all teaching staff participating in the 24-12 planannually develop the long- and short-term curriculum and instructional goals for the districtsupervise and implement a comprehensive K-12 staff professional development plan for all district professional staff personnelserve as a continuing member of the Superintendent’s cabinet and the monthly Administrative Advisory Councilprovide technical assistance to site-based management teams through the chairing of the District Shared Governance Committeeabides by all Board Policies and Regulationsperform such other duties as may be requested by the Superintendent of Schools.
