CERTIFICATION: Valid NYS School Building Leader Certification QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Certification - School Building Leader (SBL) RequiredA minimum of five years successful experience in elementary or secondary education including the classroomResponsible for maintaining and promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment for all studentsStrong understanding of multi-tiered systems of supports (MTSS) for elementary children.Leadership experience with preference for elementary curriculumCurrent knowledge of NYS curriculum, student assessments, and research based instructional practices to close student achievement gaps Leads school personnel to monitor performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of school’s curriculumExperience with analyzing trends in student performance data reports. Strong organizational skills and an eye for detailExperience with the implementation of an APPR plan.Experience preferred with formulating and managing a building budget.Experience preferred with the creation and oversight of a master schedule for teachers, support staff and studentsStrong oral, written, and listening skills are required for open communication with all members of the school and district communityCapable of responding to and making decisions under pressure/stressful conditions.
