The Chester Union Free School District has an opening effective August 31, 203 for a full time, probationary School Culture and Behavior Specialist.Qualifications: School Psychologist/School Social Worker/School Counselor. NYS Certification Required.Job duties: Support the PBIS program at Chester Elementary School, including, but not limited to: - Providing support to teachers and staff on the implemention of PBIS in the classroom, and all areas identified within and outside the building. - Demonstrating techniques and instructional methodologies in support of positive student behavior.- Providing professional development to teachers and staff on instructional strategies in support of a positive and welcoming classroom environment.Responsible for addressing student behaviors of concern as the first point of contact, inclusive but not limited to:- Supporting students in crisis through a demonstrated ability to address behaviors while teaching conflict resolution skills coupled with communication strategies.- Collaborate with other clinical and instructional staff to support student social and emotional needs.- Collaborate with the Principal regarding student discipline, DASA related incidents and overall continuous improvement to the positive culture of the building.- Communicate with families regarding student behavior incidents, resulting consequences aligned to the CUFSD student handbook, and identified student support needs.- Participate in MTSS meetings, providing input specific to observations and direct interactions with students in need of support.- Develop individual student behavior support plans in collaboration with the instructional team.
