Chappaqua Central School District School District, located in Westchester County is currently accepting applications for the position of School District Treasurer. The district serves approximately 3500 students in grades K – 12 at six schools. Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Business and supervision of the school board, the School District Treasurer is regarded as a highly important position involving responsibility for the accounting of fiscal operations of the District. Skills & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Implement and control adopted school budgetReceive district's funds from various levels of government and other sources and deposit in the bank(s) designated by the BOESign all checks issued by the districtKeep a record of district receipts and disbursements Submit reports of district's finances to the Board of EducationKnowledge of accounting and record keeping principlesKnowledge of financial software for schoolsPrepare financial records and documents for the external, internal, and claims auditorsPrepare required filings with the New York State Education Department and federal government agencies in a timely fashionPrepare accurate cash flow reports, budget projectionsKeep up to date with current developments, current interpretations, and current methodology of financial accountingKeep up to date with school finance rules and regulationsSupport business official in budget requisitions and assist in preparing and monitoring the budgetOrganizational and time management skills
