We are committed to hiring an inclusive teaching staff to create warm, joyful, student-centered, and welcoming schools.Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic, engaging & innovative educator to serve in the position of contractual Art Teacher at HGHS Grades 9 - 12 (mid-January - June 2024) Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDevelops and administers school art curriculum consistent with school district goals and vision and rooted in the NYS Standards for the Arts.Teaches knowledge and skills in art, including Industrial Design and Studio in Art (including STEAM units).Familiar with Adobe Suite, Film, and Animation software.Strong background in prototyping and technology.Demonstrates an interest and success in working with high school student artists. Promotes innovation, independence, and collaboration.Continues to engage in meaningful professional learning opportunities through readings, workshops, podcasts, conferences, and an active PLN. Encourages family involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and families.Familiar with constructing and facilitating Project and Inquiry Based Learning experiences for students.Experience with social and emotional learning preferred; particular experience with the RULER program.Ability and willingness to connect and collaborate effectively with teachers of other subjects to identify the connections art has to a wide variety of disciplines. Knowledge of the design process and its application.
