CAIRO-DURHAM CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTSpeech/Language TherapistDate: July 16, 2024Position Title: Speech/Language TherapistPosition Status: Full-time, tenure trackReports to: Douglas Morrissey, Director, Pupil Personnel Services The successful candidate will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students with educational disabilities, implementing individualized treatment plans to address speech, language, cognitive-communication, and social communication needs. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, collaborating with teachers and parents, maintaining detailed records, and participating in Committee on Special Education meetings. Expected Attributes:Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff to create and implement successful treatment plans.Patience and Empathy: Demonstrates understanding and patience, providing a supportive and encouraging environment for students to progress at their own pace.Collaborative Mindset: Works well in a team, engaging with educational staff, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, and contributing to a cohesive approach to student development.
