Ability to use said supplies and equipment safely, economically and efficiently. Some knowledge of small engine maintenance, plumbing, electricity and carpentry. Ability to understand & follow simple oral and written directions. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.***Snow removal is required***Acceptable Experience and Training: One year of experience in building cleaning and maintenance and ground maintenance activities or in one of the standard building trades and completion of a standard grade school course; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. *****VALID DRIVERS’ LICENSE IS REQUIRED***** Schedule: Work Year - 12-month work year Location: Cohoes High School Salary: Per CSEA contract Start Date: Immediate Appt: Vacancies are filled by a certified list provided by the City of Cohoes Civil Service. Should no certified list be available, candidates appointed to this position will be serving in a provisional appointment in accordance with New York State Civil Service Law. The candidate must successfully complete a competitive examination and be eligible for appointment in accordance with Civil Service Rules for the City of Cohoes Civil Service to obtain a permanent appointment.
