However, we will consider individuals who are currently in the process of obtaining their NYS certification and will be certified by September 1, 2024. Teacher expectations overview: Knowledge of NYS Instructional Standards in the lifelong practices of Readers and Writers intending to position student success in college and/or careers. Provides instructional content that bolsters student expectations in the foundational practices for "think, write, speak, and listen to understand" responding to student-specific needs; assessing students' language skills performance. Excellent student engagement skills (motivation, communication, and classroom management) with a goal of sustaining student interest and cooperation to student's achieving mastery through a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to each student in spoken and written communication, inquiry, research, critical thinking and problem-solving.
